It was a German one-two in tonight’s Grand Prix Special at the Longines FEI Dressage European Championships 2019 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands where Isabell Werth and Bella Rose claimed gold and Dorothee Schneider and Showtime snatched silver.

Denmark’s Cathrine Dufour and Atterupgaard’s Cassidy prevented a complete German whitewash when claiming the third step of the podium ahead of another member of Tuesday’s team gold-medal-winning German side, Jessica von Bredow-Werndl who had to settle for fourth place with TSF Dalera BB.

It was a mighty battle between the two medal-winning Germans, but Werth won through with a score of 86.520 while Schneider posted a mark of 85.456.

Werth was defending the Grand Prix Special title she won at the last FEI European Championships in Gothenburg, Sweden two years ago.
